Top 10 Toys for One Year Olds

Hey everyone! Long time no talk! My last post was two months ago talking about the new year and how I wanted to focus on my blog and putting out more content yet here we are in March and I have yet to post any new content. In my defense, I do have an excuse. We moved in the last month and have been super busy with unpacking and getting settled in. You never know how much stuff you own until you need to find a place for it all.

Anyway, one of my first projects in the new house was setting up Julian's playroom. It is still not 100% done but it is almost there! I cleaned out a bunch of his toys and donated them and only kept age appropriate toys and things I know he will play with. While doing all this organizing I got the idea of sharing our favorite toys for my now one year old big boy.

I do want to put out a disclaimer that this is my personal opinion and most of these toys were gifted to Julian for his birthday last month. There is also no particular order to this list.

1. Smart Stages Learn with Puppy Walker

Julian is now a year old and he is still not walking unassisted. This toy has come in handy to get him to practice taking steps and learning to balance himself while standing. Most of the time he is more interested in playing with it than actually walking but it does serve its purpose.

2. Laugh and Learn Around the Town Learning Table

Okay, we came across this toy at a yard sale for only $10 and I figured, Why Not? This little table has helped Julian with his balance and feeling more confident while standing. I really like the fact that it has a setting where it repeats everything in Spanish.

3. Chatter Telephone

I remember my sister having this toy as a little kid and when I saw it in store it brought so many memories that I just had to get it for JJ. He loves to put the receiver up to his ear, say "Hello" and pretend he is talking to his dad. Super Cute!!!

4. Double Poppin' Dino

This toy was a Christmas gift and Julian is completely obsessed with it. It is battery operated and makes the balls bounce all over the place. He can be entertained with this for a long time which is saying a lot because Julian is all over the place when it comes to play time.

5.  Baby's First Blocks

This particular toy is one of my personal favorites because it is fun for Julian but it is also educational and he is learning something as he plays. He is beginning to recognize the shapes and he tries to make the blocks go into the correct hole on the box. It is so cute to watch him try to get the pieces in the right place.

6. Monster Trucks Racing Ramp

I am going to be honest here and let you guys know I bought this for Julian as a Christmas gift because I couldn't get over how cute the monster faces are. Julian is now a pro at getting the cars down the little track and he loves the monster truck sounds the toy makes.

7. Pound a Ball

My sister gave Julian this toy for his birthday and he is absolutely obsessed with it. He like to push the balls down the ramp with his hands and has yet to learn that the hammer is to push them down but he enjoys it nonetheless. He is amazed as the balls roll down each ramp and then come out at the bottom.

8. Smart Shots Sports Center

My hubby wants to make sure that Julian grows up liking basketball so he got him this adorable goal for Christmas. Julian is obsessed with basketballs and throwing them all over the house. We still haven't mastered getting the ball into the net but he def enjoys the sounds, counting, and the little scoreboard.

9. Follow Me Franklin

This is possibly one of my favorite toys that Julian has received as a gift. It walks around, talks to him and gets him moving! My niece who is just 6 months older than Julian loves this toy as well. Great for those little ones that are just learning to walk or crawl.

10. Roll and Surprise Animal Train

This adorable little train is a toy that Julian can spend up to 10 minutes or even more playing with. I like that he has to do different actions with each button to make the characters pop up. It's great motor skills work and problem solving skills.
