Today I want to share our top backyard activities for the little ones. These are all tried and true. Julian loves being outside and I love being able to get him out of the house and keep him entertained.
Inflatable Pool
This is my number one recommendation. If you can find an inflatable pool at any store or even online, do not hesitate buying it, just do it! I bought Julian this pool as an impulse buy and I do not regret it one bit. My little one loves being in the water and what better fun than an inflatable pool in the yard. We actually had another inflatable pool that Julian got for his birthday back in February but we let cousin Cami take it to her house since she enjoyed it so much when she came over and pools seem to be sold out everywhere. I tried finding these exact pools online but they are sold out everywhere.
Water Table
I've raved about water tables in the past and I will do it again! On days when I don't feel like blowing up the pool and getting Julian ready for a swim, I fill up the water table and have him get his water fix there. Any opportunity the kid gets to play with water is like a party for him. We have this simple water table but there are some fancier ones out there.
Bubble Machines
Anyone else's kid obsessed with bubbles. I know it's not just mine. If I start blowing bubbles I need to prepare myself to be doing that for at least half and hour if not more. That's where a bubble machine came in and saved my life! Okay maybe that's a little bit dramatic but you get the point. It saves me from having to take a billion deep breaths to continuously keep blowing bubbles and keep my toddler happy.
Sidewalk Chalk
At our house we actually don't have a sidewalk or any concrete that Julian can draw on, so this activity is strictly reserved for my parents house. If your child is anything like mine and they love to draw, sidewalk chalk is one of the best activities for them to do. You also can't beat the price of sidewalk chalk. We found ours at Walmart for under $5.
Tricycle
We actually received this tricycle as a hand-me-down gift and I can confidently say that it is by far Julian's favorite thing right now. He enjoys going on walks so much and we even use it to take him on short little walks around the property or when we need to water the garden. Any little excuse for him to get into it and take a ride is a good excuse.
What are your kids doing to pass the time this summer. Any items you recommend to help keep the little ones entertained? Leave a comment below!
