Baby Feeding Essentials

Can someone please explain to me how time has flown by so quickly? I could have sworn it was just last week that I brought my newborn baby boy home and now he is nine months old. It is crazy to believe that in just a few short months my little guy will be a toddler! Someone please stop time!

For today's blog posts I wanted to share some of my favorite items that we use in the daily to feed Julian. We started him on solids at around four months old and we have had so much success! I made a post all about baby food and you can read that here, but today I wanted to share our top items for feeding him.

To start off, I want to talk about the utensils we use for feeding Julian solids. My favorite bowls so far have been the Cloud Island brand as well as the Green Sprout brand. The reason that I like the Cloud Island ones is because they hold a really good amount of food, so if I mix some pureed food with some rice cereal it will fit perfectly in these and not overflow. I find that sometimes the baby bowls tend to be very shallow and these are not.

We got a Green Sprout food bowl in one of our Bitsy boxes and I really like that one too. I love the material that it is made out of. It is made out of silicone which helps prevent exposure to harmful materials, it is none slip and it is super easy to clean (that's my favorite part!). These one are a little more pricey but if you can afford them I def recommend.

On the topic of utensils I have found a couple of spoons that I love. In one of our Bitsy boxes we got an OXO Tot spoon with Travel Case and I absolutely love this spoon. It is also made of silicone which I like and it has a really good size indentation for the food. It is my favorite spoon to use when I feed Julian myself. He is now at an Aage where he likes to feed himself so I will usually give him a spoon to use at meal times. However I find that the spoons I like to use tend to be too large for him and he can't really get the food t this mouth. I found these Munchkin Gentle Spoon Silicone Training Spoons. They have a shorter handle for him to be able to grab easier, and they have a barrier to prevent him from putting the food too far into his mouth.

The next item I am going to mention is another Bitsy box find! The OXO Tot Waterproof Silicone Roll Up Bib. We have used multiple different bibs and they all seem to work the same but this particular bib I really like because it has the comfortable fabric up top around the neck and the silicone on the rest of it which makes for easy clean up. Also, the fact that you can roll it up to store it is amazing and such a space saver.

I have talked about this before but we really love the Munchkin Miracle 360 cup. Julian loves water and I am all for getting and keeping my kid hydrated! We have tried different sippy cups with soft and hard spouts but this has been the best cup. It is easy for him to drink out of and it is non spill which I love!

The last thing I want to mention are these Disposable Placemats. I love using these when we go out to restaurants because usually the plates are hot and can break easily. Beside we all know better than to put a full plate of food in front of our small children. These are perfect for the babies so that they can have their food right in front of them, practice feeding themselves and they can make a mess without you feeling bad about it!
